If you have been suffering with the symptoms of bloating, pain in the abdomen, and an uncomfortable feeling, it is possible that you might be suffering from fecal compaction. Fecal compaction might sound like a condition that is not serious. However, if it continues for a long time, it could become serious leading to damage of the colonic tissue and possible death.

The problem with fecal compaction is that the stool becomes stuck within the colon and is unable to move further. As a result, as the person continues to eat, more waste is backed up in the colon. Over time this situation worsens and as the blockage grows, blood and nutrients are cut off from this area from the colon.
