Fecal Compaction
If you have been suffering with the symptoms of bloating, pain in the abdomen, and an uncomfortable feeling, it is possible that you might be suffering from fecal compaction. Fecal compaction might sound like a condition that is not serious. However, if it continues for a long time, it could become serious leading to damage of the colonic tissue and possible death.
The problem with fecal compaction is that the stool becomes stuck within the colon and is unable to move further. As a result, as the person continues to eat, more waste is backed up in the colon. Over time this situation worsens and as the blockage grows, blood and nutrients are cut off from this area from the colon.
With a fecal compaction, if no blood or nutrients is getting to the colon wall, then the tissue suffers from loss of oxygen and dies. In severe cases this can cause tissue necrosis, and when this happens, the part of the colon that is dying can become infected, possible leading to blood infection and death.
If you suffer from constipation, then there is the potential that you could develop fecal compaction. A great way to avoid this is through a colon cleanse. A colon cleanse is able to remove all of the leftover material that your body was unable to digest, and is baking up in your colon. Through cleansing you might reduce your risks of developing fecal compaction, and your body is cleaned in the process.
