Colon Cleaning: Using Bentonite Clay
We have all seen bentonite clay listed as an ingredient of many colon cleansing products, but what exactly is it?
Bentonite clay, also indicated by the name of montmorillonite, is one of most effective clays and curatives. It is seen as a powerful “weapon” to treat internal and external diseases. The bentonite can be added to the outside like a poultice of clay, in can be packaged as mud to be used in treating the skin. When it is taken internally in the procedure of colon cleansing, it can be made in liquid form or be frozen on food to help those digest it that might have a sensitive palate.
Bentonite clay when the purest form of it is obtained, is usually purchased in a cream or grayish color. It should be as close to white in color, as possible, to be considered pure. It you have never touched bentonite clay before, it is a soft clay that feels like satin. It is odorless and will not stain your skin.
Bentonite clay is far from common, and this fact is obvious once water is added to it. Unlike other types of clays, the molecules of bentonite clay will start to absorb the water, however while this is occurring, the electrical charge between the molecules changes. Thus the main function of this clay is in its ability to absorb all types of impurities or toxins.
As the clay absorbs the impurities, it will take them and trap these impurities within its center. As a result with the absorption of the water and impurities, bentonite clay will swell. Therefore, it can be seen why bentonite clay is used in a colon cleanse, when it comes into contact with water within the intestine, it will increase in size, and change its charge. This increase in size and new charge causes it to draw up all of the toxins located within the intestine. These toxins will then be released in the stool. It is in its reaction with water, and the toxins attraction to the clay, that make it so effective!
